Vacation:
Set vacation:
Set vacation pay is that which the employee has at the start of every year. (Start of every year is from hire date to hire date. Example being Joe has 1 week of vacation available from July 1 to June 30) It may be used whenever the employee desires. A two-week notice must be given before any vacation pay is used. Vacation pay will be given in 8 hour increments only. An employee may not use vacation pay to make up hours for days in which they have not worked.
Any employee whose employment is terminated by them self or by Lightning Electric Inc. is only entitled to a pro-rated portion of their set vacation pay. Example: Joe’s employment is terminated and he has only worked for 3 months. Joe is only entitled to ¼ of his set vacation. Forty hours of set vacation will be given after one year of employment. (1 week vacation) Forty additional hours of set vacation will be given after three years of employment. (2 weeks vacation) After seven years of employment 40 more additional hours of vacation will be given. (3 weeks vacation) this is the maximum amount of vacation given.
Vacation hours can not be used to acquire overtime pay, only actual working hours count toward overtime pay.
If an employee negotiates a certain amount of set vacation at the time of hiring they are then subject to same vacation policy as the rest of the employees for any certain amount then after. (For instance: If an employee will only come to work for Lightning Electric Inc. if they may start their employment with 2 weeks of vacation time as part of their pay) this employee then must work for Lightning Electric Inc. for 5 years before a third year of vacation may be obtained.
This is the policy and it will not be waived.
