COMPANY TRUCKS:
A COMPANY VEHICLE MAY BE ISSUED TO AN EMPLOYEE IF THE COMPANY OFFICERS DEEM IT NECESSARY. COMPANY TRUCKS ARE NOT ONLY A BENEFIT, BUT ALSO A RESPONSIBILITY. AN EMPLOYEE WHO RECEIVES A COMPANY TRUCK IS RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING TRACK OF THE VEHICLE’S GENERAL MAINTENANCE AND APPEARANCE, & PROPER USAGE. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN THE LOSS OF THIS BENEFIT.
COMPANY VEHICLES ARE TO BE USED FOR COMPANY BUSINESS ONLY.
COMPANY VEHICLES ARE NOT FOR PERSONAL USE BY EMPLOYEES. COMPANY VEHICLES ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR TRANSPORTING PERSONAL BELONGINGS, OR NON EMPLOYEES OF LIGHTNING ELECTRIC UNLESS PERMISSION IS GRANTED BY COMPANY OFFICER (President or Vice-President ).
ASIDE FROM THE REPONSIBILITY OF A COMPANY VEHICLE ARE THE INSURANCE IMPLICATIONS. DRIVING IS A PRIVILEGE AND IF AN EMPLOYEE’S DRIVING HABITS RESULT IN TOO MANY TICKETS, THE INSURANCE PREMIUMS MAY BE TOO EXPENSIVE FOR LIGHTNING ELECTRIC INC. TO PAY. LIGHTNING ELECTRIC INC. DOES NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR AN EMPLOYEE’S DRIVING HABITS AND WILL REVOKE DRIVING PRIVLIGES OF COMPANY VEHICLES IF NECESSARY.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE WILL DRUGS OR ALCOHOL BE PERMITTED IN A COMPANY VEHICLE. IN SHORT…. POOR DRIVING HABITS AND IMPROPER USE OF A COMPANY VEHICLE WILL NOT BE AN EXPENSE OF LIGHTING ELECTRIC INC. VIOLATIONS OF THIS POLICY IS GROUNDS FOR IMMEDIATE TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT. ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH IMPROPER USE OF COMPANY VEHICLES WILL BE PURSUED FOR RECOVERY BY LIGHTING ELECTRIC FROM THE RESPONSIBLE EMPLOYEE.
INSURANCE
AFTER 3 MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT, EMPLOYEES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR LIGHTNING ELECTRIC INC.’S MEDICAL EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT PLAN (M.E.R.P.). THE EMPLOYEE IS REIMBURSED FOR A PORTION OF THEIR MEDICAL INSURANCE PREMIUM. EMPLOYEE’S ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING THEIR OWN INSURANCE PLANS. EACH EMPLOYEE WILL BE REIMBURSED TO A SET AMOUNT FOR THEIR INSURANCE. EVERONE IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE SAME AMOUNT. NO EMPLOYEE WILL RECEIVE MORE THAN THE SET RATE.
The set rate of pay for M.E.R.P. is variable and is subject to change on a yearly basis at the company officer’s discretion. This rate will be analyzed yearly and set in January of each year. Employees will be notified of any changes. Employee’s are responsible for this benefit and must produce receipts to accept the benefit.
All receipts must show proof of payment and may not be more than 30 days old. Any receipts over 30 days old will not be considered for reimbursement. All M.E.R.P. benefits will be paid at the same time and only once per month.
WE ALSO OFFER DISABILITY INSURANCE, AND GROUP DENTAL INSURANCE. THESE ARE PAID BY THE EMPLOYEE ON A PRE-TAX DOLLAR BASIS. FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE GIVEN WHEN ASKED FOR AFTER 3 MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT.
